2022 is proving to be Spec MX-5 Challenge’s most exciting year yet. New racers, tracks and shops all set the scene for a competitive 15 race season. In that spirit, Spec MX-5 Challenge announce the addition of Alex Bertagnoli in 2022. Bertagnoli will join the team at Advanced Autosports for a full seven race season, bringing 14 years of karting experience and four national championships to the field.

Today Spec MX-5 Challenge presented by Toyo Tires and its partners at Mazda Motorsports announce the highly anticipated 2022 race schedule. The schedule reflects the series’ ever-growing effort to provide a space for racer development and experienced competitors alike. The regular season will begin March 12, 2022 and run through August, culminating with a championship event later in the year

In three-days, 17 Spec MX-5 Challenge racers from around the country took to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in the hopes of being crowned the 2021 champion. With one qualifying session and two races, teams and drivers alike invoked the culmination of 22 regular season event weekends into minutes of on-track action.
