Racers, Teams And Prospects Come Together For 2022 Plans
Last night, Mazda Motorsports and Spec MX-5 Challenge, LLC held a call with several Spec MX-5 racers, teams and prospects to discuss the program’s growth.
Strong Partnership Continues Following Intense Tire Tests
Spec MX-5 Challenge, in technical partnership with Mazda Motorsports, proudly announces the ongoing relationship with presenting and tire partner, Toyo Tires, through the 2022 racing season. This comes following two on-track tests with five tire manufacturers, technical partners, Mazda Motorsports, Mazda Motorsports’ factory drivers, and Spec MX-5 Challenge racers in participation.
The Championship Race Re-Ignites
Following that intensity, we must remember what these experienced and young racers are fighting for. There are $5K scholarships for the five champs leading up to the national championship, in addition to the six-figures on offer during the regular season plus $70K in scholarships at the championship event. As drivers look to make their mark, I promise you we haven’t heard the last of some of the West regions brightest. We expect to see continuous jumps, especially for the top-three.
A Mad Dash At A Mad Track
AUSTIN, August 25, 2021 – Southeast and Northeast racers prepare for the final crossover event weekend of the season. The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will host Spec MX-5 Challenge Aug. 28-29, 2021 for three races, with one and two counting towards the championship. With only three event weekends following, racers will be looking to make their mark.
