CONFIRMED: Spec MX-5 Challenge to Race at Barber

Spec MX-5 Challenge Series presented by Toyo Tires is excited to confirm that the Series will head to Barber Motorsports Park later this August, joining the Tennessee Valley Region SCCA for their SEDIV Regional Racing Event. This marks the first time Spec MX-5 Challenge will be racing at the world-class 2.38 mile professional road course.

Barber Motorsports Park, which opened in 2003, has a 17-turn, 2.38-mile (3.83 km) road course, designed by Alan Wilson, viewable from several naturally wooded or grass-covered banks. The track is designed to be run clockwise. The layout is compact, with a number of elevation changes. Barber has hosted numerous motorsport races including Grand-Am, Pirelli World Challenge, Vintage Racing Series events, AMA SuperBike and the IndyCar Series. It serves as the home of the North American Porsche Driving School, and is noted for its landscaping and greenery; the track has been referred to as “The Augusta National of Motorsports”.

With at least 20 Spec MX-5’s expected, Barber looks to be one of the most highly-attended events of the 2023 season. The schedule will be revealed closer to the event date, August 26th & 27th.
