Sebring International Raceway hosted the Spec MX-5 Challenge Series this weekend, seeing the South Region & National Option battle it out for valuable points with the mid-way point of the Championship season fast approaching.
Race 1 podium: 2nd place Don Squirek, 1st place Alex Berg, and 3rd place Alexander Searle.
Alex Berg reigned supreme, winning both races and taking a comfortable lead of the South Region, where Alexander Searle claimed two podiums (his first of his short Spec MX-5 career) to secure the lead of the National Option. Don Squirek finished second in race 1, with Ryan Harrison landing on the final step of the podium in third for race 2.
Spec MX-5 Challenge will take a short two-week break; returning for the West Region’s Round 4 at Utah Motorsports Campus from June 17th-19th. Wyatt Couch looks to climb his way back to the top of the standings after missing the Portland event – setting up an epic battle with West Region leader Clayton Ketcher.
