The narrow, twisty Roebling Road Raceway hosted the South Region’s Round 2 of the Spec MX-5 Challenge presented by Toyo Tires, showcasing intense clashes between racers.

Jumping into the #86 MX-5 for the first time since a big accident, Jarrett Jones completed the trifecta on Saturday – securing pole position (by less than a hundredth of a second), capturing the race’s fastest lap, and winning the first race of the weekend by over 8 seconds. Further behind, Grant West and Alex Berg completed the podium after an incredibly intense race-long battle with fellow Spec MX-5 racers Ryan Harrison and Don Squirek.
Sunday’s race was incredibly competitive, with 1st place changing hands with three different drivers vefore the checkered flag waived. Grant West ultimately claimed victory, finishing just .115 seconds in-front of 2nd place finisher Jarrett Jones. Don Squireck rounded off the podium in 3rd place, with Ryan Harrison and Alex Berg just two seconds behind.
Double podium-finisher Jarrett Jones was thrilled with his comeback; “I enjoyed the good, close racing. Mazda has provided a good platform. I’d like to thank my sponsors, Mike Rossini Racing, my parents, and Mazda Motorsports. I can’t wait for the next race!”
The South Region racers will return to the cockpits of their Spec MX-5 Challenge Series cars at the beginning of June, where they will tackle the infamous tarmac of Sebring International Raceway in Florida. The field will include racers from the National Option – promising to be another action-packed weekend.
