The start of the 2020 Spec MX-5 SimRacing Challenge season is only a few short weeks away and we can’t wait!
The drivers have been selected and we’ve managed one group practice to work out some bugs with the custom championship livery and of course get a sneak-peek at the new competition.
The virtual racing season schedule follows the real Spec MX-5 Challenge calendar but as everyone is aware, we have pushed the pause-button on the 2020 season until further notice. Nevertheless, the SimRacing Challenge is here to entertain you and fill the motorsports void left in the wake of COVID-19.
Our first stop is Summit Point Motorsports Park located just under 90-minutes from Washington DC on the VA/WV border. This meandering 2-mile 10-turn natural terrain circuit is one of four racetracks situated within the rural campus but is the only one that is regularly used for wheel-to-wheel competition.
Since they opened the gates in 1969, Summit Point has played host to SCCA, IMSA, Trans Am and various open and closed wheel organizations, and continues to serve the Washington DC area’s motorsports community on an almost daily basis.
Don’t miss our opening round at Summit Point Motorsports Park on Wednesday April 15th at 8:00 PM EST and keep an eye on specmx-5.com and the Spec MX-5 Facebook page for future updates.
