The SCCA will be running a 3 day race weekend at Circuit of The Americas, February 8-10, 2019. Winding Road Racing has put together a special value package to allow drivers interested in the Spec MX-5 Challenge Series to race one of the cars at one of the great tracks in America. This could be excellent practice as the Spec MX-5 Challenge West Series will be racing at COTA in May as part of qualifying for its $100k+ national championship.
Save Over $6000
The full cost for a Spec MX-5 Challenge weekend is normally $9000, but thanks to support from Yokohama, Pagid Racing and the SCCA,WRR is offering this test for $1900 per driver, plus the cost of entry. The $1900 fee covers car rental, mechanical wear, and tear, transport, tires, fuel, pads, fluids, nitrogen, mechanics, prep and setup. This is a standard SCCA SuperTour three-day race weekend, with practices, qualifying and two races. We will have 2018 Spec MX-5 Challenge Central Series champion Tom Martin on hand for data analysis and coaching advice. Drivers are responsible for their personal transportation, lodging, and meals, entry fees, plus damage due to crashes, contact, off-track excursions and abuse. You get to race the car for about the cost of tires and fluids. Drivers must have SCCA full competition licenses.
